Where VoucherCart is stronger
VoucherCart does more than gift vouchers. It sells gift cards, tickets and memberships, offers a reservations add-on, and supports physical cards. For UK merchants it runs a postal fulfilment centre that can print and post vouchers, with the merchant setting the postage charge the customer pays. If a large share of your voucher sales are posted in a card, that matters.
Its help centre is also extensive, with dozens of articles on integrations alone. Businesses that like to find answers themselves, or that need a particular gateway or connected tool, will find more documented options there than Bronora offers today.
Where Bronora is different
Bronora is narrower and priced more simply. There is no monthly subscription: the fee is 3% when a voucher sells, and nothing in a quiet month. That suits seasonal businesses, where most vouchers sell in November and December and very few sell in February.
Customers buy from a branded Bronora shop that the business links to from its website or social pages. Payment settles to the business’s own Stripe account. The voucher is emailed straight away or on a chosen date with a personal message and a PDF, and staff redeem it by QR code or short code on an enrolled phone or tablet, including part of a balance. The owner sees sales, redemptions and the value still outstanding in one place.
On €20,000 of voucher sales a year, Bronora’s fee is €600. At 4%, VoucherCart’s commission is €800 before its subscription, which is £300 to £900 a year on the UK Business and Pro plans. The euro subscription for an Irish account is not published on the pages we reviewed, so ask VoucherCart for it.
Questions to settle before you choose
- Do you need tickets, memberships or reservations as well as vouchers?
- Do customers expect a posted card, and is postal fulfilment available for Irish orders?
- What is the monthly subscription in euro for an Irish business, and is VAT added?
- How many locations and staff users will redeem vouchers?
Bronora does not offer physical cards, postal fulfilment, tickets or memberships at launch. If those are essential, VoucherCart or another provider in the comparison list may be the better fit.
