What should a gift voucher include?
The business name, the value or experience, a unique voucher number, the expiry date and how to book or redeem. A short message and the names of the giver and recipient make it feel like a gift.
How long must a gift voucher be valid in Ireland?
Where the Consumer Protection (Gift Vouchers) Act 2019 applies, a voucher with an expiry date must generally remain valid for at least five years from purchase. This maker sets five years by default.
How do I stop printed vouchers being copied or used twice?
Give every voucher a unique number and keep a register of each number, its value and what has been used. Paper cannot check itself, so staff need that register at the till. Digital vouchers are checked against a live balance automatically.
Can customers buy vouchers from my website instead?
